Development Process of Cement Kiln

July 15, 2020

Cement production technology has undergone many changes in the past 180 years Since its birth in 1824. As cement clinker calcination equipment, it started as an intermittent earth shaft kiln. In 1885, a rotary kiln appeared. Since then, as the specification of the rotary kiln expanded, the form and structure of the kiln have also undergone new development.
Vertical kilns were used to produce cement clinkers 170 years ago, using a single variety of clay bricks containing 30 to 40 percent Al2O3. Rotary kilns were first used to produce cement clinkers 120 years ago, and this experience is still used in vertical kilns.
In the middle of 1930s, a few rotary kilns began to use high alumina bricks in their firing belts, which led to a new concept of choosing different refractory materials according to the requirements of clinker production technology. Alkaline bricks were used for firing strips from the 1940s, flanked by high-alumina bricks, and clay bricks for the rest.
