Furnace Cover for EF

The function of furnace cover is insulation and environmental protection, preventing dust from spilling out. There are holes in the central zone of EF cover for inserting electrodes and adding some ferrous metallurgy auxiliary materials.
It doesn’t contact molten steel directly but it is exposed to the environment with intense thermal shock,high temperature and erosion to dust. The service life of EF cover is affected by temperature and time of steelmaking , intensity of oxygen blowing as well.
Better thermal shock resistance , heat resistance and resistance to dust erosion the refractories is,longer service time the furnace cover will have.
