Fused Cast Magnesite Chrome Brick
Disadvantages of molten particles reboned magnesia chrome brick: porosity and the corrosion rate is high. Despite magnesia chrome brick has excellent slag resistance and high temperature resistance,still not popular because its production process is complicated, cost is high, and the thermal stability is poor.
Very good water cooling technology is necessary for using of fused cast magnesia-Chrome brick .Satisfactory results will be obtained only when the service temperature is stable. In the past, fused cast magnesia-Chrome brick was used for slag line in hot area and the position with the strongest thermal load part in electric furnace LD converter& LF refining furnace for steelmaking. But now replaced by MGO-C brick. However, for (outside the furnace) refining furnace, the most corrosion-resistant material is still fused cast magnesia-chrome brick.
