Refractories for Glass Industry

June 04, 2020

AZS brick is the most important refractory for glass kiln. The main advantage of fused alumina material is that it has no obvious harmful effect on glass quality, and has good resistance to the corrosion of sodium calcium glass or alkali vapor below 1350℃. Therefore, it is widely used in the cooling part of glass kiln.
Silica bricks are widely used in crowns that built glass kilns due to their low price and excellent creep resistance. Alkaline refractories are widely used in making checkers because lower price than fused AZS materials and good high temperature performance.
Grade 98,97 magnesium brick can be used for the top layer of the checker; Grade 96-95 magnesia bricks can be used on the upper layer of the checker; The magnesia-Chrome brick can be used for the glauber's salt condensing belt in the middle layer of checker. Because of chromium pollution, magnesia-Chrome brick has a tendency to be replaced by magnesia-zirconium brick.
Clay bricks are used for laying parts with slight erosion that do not touch the liquid glass. Low porosity clay bricks are used for laying low arsenite.
