Cupola refractory

Cupola is a device for melting iron. Its operating temperature is generally 1400~1600℃. With the development of mechanical casting industry, high quality cast iron is needed. Therefore, in cupola, not only iron is melted, but also alloying process is available. The refractory for cupola should be developed towards alkalinization. It corrodes aluminum-silicon refractories and magnesia refractories very quickly. Therefore, the refractory material of the melting zone is extremely critical. It is eroded and scoured by hot molten iron. The refractories used should be the magnesia-Chrome brick or magnesia brick with strong corrosion resistance, and the corundum brick with high quality and high strength should also have a better use effect.
