Material for Checker Brick

In the past, the materials for checker brick are high alumina brick for upper and middle, clay brick for middle and lower . High alumina brick can withsatnd high temperature but has a general corrosion resistance and thermal shock resistance . The main disadvantage of high alumina brick is easily to produce nepheline phase with sodium carbonate and causes spalling and delaminating.
So anti-flaking high alumina brick works better. Clay brick is cheap and has a good thermal shock resistance but does not bear high temperature and erosion. Neither clay brick nor high aluminum brick has a long service life .
Nowadays, there are two series select (suitable) materials for checker brick. One is alkaline material ,another is zircon material.
