Refractory for hot air furnace

November 02, 2020
Hot blast furnace is a thermal equipment that heats the air pumped into the blast furnace from normal temperature to high temperature. It is divided into internal combustion type and external combustion type. The furnace body of a hot blast furnace is composed of a regenerator and a combustion chamber.
Hot blast furnace is generally used blast furnace gas and coke oven gas mixed gas as fuel, the air heating to 1300~1600℃. Under mechanical load and high temperature, shrinkage deformation and cracks occur in masonry, which affect the service life of hot blast furnace. Therefore, the refractory materials for hot blast furnace are required to have large heat capacity, good creep resistance, high softening temperature under load, high strength at high temperature and good thermal shock resistance. When the hot air temperature (less than 900℃) is low, the choice of clay bricks can meet the requirements; When the hot air temperature is 900~1100℃, the high temperature furnace lining and grid brick should be made of high alumina brick, mullite brick or silica wire brick. When the hot air temperature is 1100~1200℃, the high temperature furnace lining and grid brick should be made of high alumina brick, mullite brick or silica brick. When the hot air temperature is above 1200℃, the high temperature furnace lining and grid brick should be made of high quality silicon brick, mullite brick and silica wire brick.
