Sizing Nozzle Generally Used

Sizing nozzle is functional refractory which applies for controlling the flow of molten steel in continuous casting of square billet whose size is less than 120mm. Because both ladle shroud and submerged entry nozzle are not suitable due to the size of square billet is too small. In order to ensure the stable casting speed, the material of fixed nozzle should have a good erosion resistance, scour resistance and thermal shock resistance, generally so material is high grade ZrO2 with resistance to erosion.
Followings are several types of nozzle commonly used at present:
(1)Fully uniform metering nozzle. It is composed entirely of ZrO2(60%-95%) materials.
(2)Combined type fixed nozzle.
(3)Mosaic sizing nozzle.High alumina coat and zirconia inner are bonded by refractory mortar.
