Molding Methods for Firebrick
There are many molding methods for refractory materials, such as organic compression molding, vibration molding, extrusion molding, ramming molding, isostatic compression molding, casting molding, grouting molding and so on.
At present, the most commonly used molding method in refractory production is the machine press molding method, which USES brick press and steel mold to press the clay into a blank body. Because the general use of water content of about 5% of the semi-dry mud, it is also called semi-dry molding. The machine molding has the characteristics of compact structure, high strength, drying and sintering shrinkage reduction, easy size control and so on.
The choice of forming method is mainly based on the nature of the mud, the nature of the billet, the size and other technological requirements.
