Refractories for RH
RH refractories have the following trends: magnesia-chrome brick substitutes to solve environmental protection problems. At present, many researchers and users focus on magnesia alumina spinel brick, but the brick is not as corrosion-resistant as magnesia chrome brick, resulting in a reduced service life. And the other trend is low carbon magnesium carbon brick, through the trial abroad has made obvious progress, compared with magnesia-chrome brick, has a higher performance-to-price ratio, is worth further improvement and development, is expected to solve RH chrome-free environmental protection problems. Another trend in RH development is informalization. In particular RH impregnation tube with magnesium aluminum spinel, magnesium zirconium quality castable casting into a whole, and through the cover casting and repair, the service life is expected to reach or exceed the level of magnesia-chrome brick lining, performance cost is also relatively high, but the construction maintenance may be more troublesome.
Refractory materials for RH: alkaline mud for magnesia-chrome brick, aluminum-magnesium castable for impregnation tube and upper part of vacuum chamber, insulating brick for exhaust pipe and vacuum chamber, silica-calcium plate, directly bonded magnesia-chrome brick. Magnesium carbon brick, magnesium jet and magnesium spinel prefabricated parts are used in the lower part of vacuum chamber and impregnation tube.
