Refractory Plastic Properties
Refractory plastic is unshaped refractory that consists of 70%-80% granularity and powder shape material,adding10-25% fat clay adhesive and proper plasticizer, looks like a paste and can be stored for a long time with good plasticity.
Refractory plastic is mainly used for various heating furnaces that don’t contact melt directly.
Clay and high alumina are main material but there are also silicon, magnesia, chrome, zirconium, silicon carbide, and so on. It can be classified into clay, water glass, phosphate, and sulfate according to the binder types.
In order to ensure smooth construction in high temperature, refractory plastic has the following properties:
1)For better work, certain plasticity is needed.
2)For keep the plasticity in the expiration date, a certain retention period is needed
3)For better dismantle and transport, it should have a certain strength after curing at room temperature.
4)In order to prevent furnace lining structure from damaging because of deformation seriously, it should have a good high-temperature stability of volume.
