What is Cupola Furnace?

Cupola furnace also called cupola or foundry furnace which is mainly used for melting iron. Its service temperature is generally 1400-1600℃.
With the development of mechanical casting industry, high quality cast iron is needed. So there are not only cupola but also alloying technology in the cupola furnace. Silicon iron and ferromanganese iron are added for deoxygenation and alloying. And in fact different ferrous metallurgy auxiliary materials can be added to for further refining, to smelt high quality iron casts. So foundry furnace must adjust the demand of develoment and should develop in the direction of alkalinity. Common foundry furnaces don’t work well nowadays because they generally use clay bricks and related repair materials. Then service life is only one day .
